Lithium-ion battery is becoming more and more popular in the forklift industry. It is presenting many advantages compared to traditional lead-acid battery forklift. The most component of Lithium-ion battery (LIB) is LFP (LiFePO4) and LiO2 (LiCoMnNiO2).

THE ADVANTAGES OF Li-ion BATTERY

1. Light weight with compact size, strong power,3-4 times stronger than lead acid battery
2. Maintenance free: no need to fill up acid during using.
3. Full charge time is shortened over haft time compared to lead-acid battery. In fact, it takes only 2-2.5 hours. Li-ion battery is available with fast charging and opportunity charging, which allows you to charge when necessary or during break times. This means you do not need two batteries for each forklift. While the lead-acid battery needs regular maintenance, Li-ion battery is almost maintenance-free.
4. Opportunity charge, no need to wait that is flexible for working shift. There is big difference with lead acid battery; It is because during any break time the charging of Li-ion battery will extend the working hours that will not affect the battery life. For example, lithium-ion battery has 50% battery left, customer can charge to 70% on break time then stop charging and back to operate the forklift in order to catch up the working shift without worrying about damage battery such as lead-acid battery; After that, during lunch time, charge again to 100%. This is called one cycle life.
5. One charge cycle of Lithium-ion battery is totally different one charge cycle of lead acid battery. For Li-ion battery, one full charge from 0% to 100% is called one cycle life that does not depend on the numbers of stopping during charge. Meanwhile, lead-acid battery forklift will account every plug-in electric is one of charge cycle. Therefore, the charging battery of lead-acid must be completed 100% to avoid waste money and protect battery.

7. Long service life, complete charge, and discharge cycle 3000-4000 times (lead acid is only 800-1000 times charge, but the charge cycle is very strict and harmful).

9. Comparing with diesel/LGP forklift, it can save energy cost and maintenance cost, reduce air and noise pollution, work both indoor and outdoor. Comparing with lead-acid battery forklift, the Li-ion battery has much longer lifespan and can save cost.
10. Li-ion battery cost is 55% less than Lead acid battery.
