Giulia, who are you? Where are you from, and what have you done so far in life?
Giulia, chi sei? Da dove vieni e cosa hai fatto finora nella vita?
My name is Giulia, and I was born and raised in a small town in the South of Italy. After graduating in International Relations for Marketing in high school, I took part in an Erasmus+ project that allowed me to do an internship in a hotel in Brussels. I liked the city a lot for its vibes and for being a huge mix of different cultures – 183 nationalities are present in Brussels nowadays! For this reason, I decided to move to Brussels and keep working in hospitality for a well-known chain. After four years working in hospitality, I was seeking for a change in my career, and that’s when the opportunity to work with EP showed up.
Mi chiamo Giulia e sono nata e cresciuta in un piccolo paese del Sud Italia. Dopo essermi diplomata in Relazioni Internazionali per il Marketing a scuola superiore, ho partecipato a un progetto Erasmus+ che mi ha permesso di fare uno stage in un hotel a Bruxelles. La città mi è piaciuta molto specialmente per essere un enorme mix di culture diverse – 183 nazionalità sono presenti a Bruxelles al giorno d’oggi! Per questo ho deciso di trasferirmi a Bruxelles e continuare a lavorare nell’hospitality per una nota catena. Dopo quattro anni di lavoro nell’ospitalità, stavo cercando un cambiamento nella mia carriera, ed è allora che si è presentata l’opportunità di lavorare con EP.
What has been your main motivation to join EP?
Qual è stata la tua motivazione principale per unirti a EP?
I already knew a bit of the team, as they used to stay in the hotel where I used to work. Seeing such a motivated and energetic team was certainly one of the main motivations. Also, I am very dynamic and curious, so I found quite stimulating the idea of learning something completely new, like forklifts and trucks.
Conoscevo già un po’ il team, visto che alloggiavano nell’albergo dove lavoravo. Vedere un team così motivato ed energico è stata sicuramente una delle motivazioni principali. Inoltre, sono molto dinamica e curiosa, quindi ho trovato abbastanza stimolante l’idea di imparare qualcosa di completamente nuova, come i carrelli elevatori.
Which product do you find most interesting, and what do you want other people to know about this product?
Quale prodotto trovi più interessante e cosa vuoi che gli altri sappiano di questo prodotto?
I joined the company while the XP15 was being launched on the market, and I found that particularly cool. The XP15 is an autonomous mobile robot and an electric pallet truck. I find it fascinating because it makes life much easier, as it can help workers in warehouses to save time by doing the repetitive tasks and increases productivity and efficiency.
Ho iniziato a lavoraro con EP mentre l’XP15 veniva lanciato sul mercato e l’ho trovato particolarmente interessante. L’XP15 è un robot mobile autonomo e un transpallet elettrico. Lo trovo affascinante perché rende la vita molto più semplice, in quanto può aiutare i lavoratori nei magazzini a risparmiare tempo svolgendo le attività ripetitive e aumenta la produttività e l’efficienza.
What hobbies do you have, and how do you spend your weekends?
Che hobby hai e come trascorri i fine settimana?
I love travelling, discovering new cultures, and meeting people, but I also like to lift weights in the gym whenever I have the time. During weekends, I check if there’s a nice festival taking place close to Brussels, take the chance to visit my family, do a short trip somewhere or just stay at home chilling and cooking a nice meal.
Amo viaggiare, scoprire nuove culture e incontrare persone, ma mi piace anche andare in palestra quando ne ho il tempo. Durante i fine settimana, controllo se c’è un bel festival in corso vicino a Bruxelles, colgo l’occasione per visitare la mia famiglia, fare un breve viaggio da qualche parte o semplicemente stare a casa a rilassarmi e cucinare un buon pasto.
What is your biggest wish for your first year at EP?
Qual è il tuo più grande desiderio per il tuo primo anno all’EP?
My wish for my first year at EP is to connect with as many people as possible that work in this industry and learn their stories. In this way I’ll learn more also about forklifts, pallet trucks and material handling solutions from different points of view and improve my knowledge.
Il mio desiderio per il mio primo anno in EP è di entrare in contatto con quante più persone possibili che lavorano in questo settore e imparare le loro storie. In questo modo imparerò di più anche su carrelli elevatori, transpallet e soluzioni per la movimentazione dei materiali da diversi punti di vista e migliorerò le mie conoscenze.
